How to memorize the Quran?

I will tell you 10 tips to make memorizing the Quran easy for you, 
and make you achieve the goal in a short time

Make your intention pure.
Always ask Allah for help.
Make a solid plan.
Make easy and constant plan.
Memorize the Ayat with its meaning.
Read whatever you memorize in your five times prayers.
Learn about the similar Ayat.
Make a plan for memorizing new Ayat.
Make a plan for reviewing.
Teach Quran to others.

A lot of people has tried to memorize the Quran but they couldn’t because they thought they can do that in a short time.

1. Make your intention pure.

With no doubt if you do anything for the sake of Allah only, Allah will help you to complete it and reward you for your effort.

but if you do it to hear praise from others surely you can’t memorize it, or you will forget it as you didn’t memorize it before.

It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu’minin, Abu Hafs ‘Umar bin al-Khattab (ra) who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:

“Actions are by motives, so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger;

but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated”

عن أمير المؤمنين أبي حفص عمر بن الخطاب بن نفيل بن عبد العزى بن رياح بن قرط بن رزاح بن عدى بن لؤى ابن غالب القرشى العدوى‏.‏ رضي الله عنه، قال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول‏:‏ ‏ “‏ إنما الأعمال بالنيات، وإنما لكل امرىء ما نوى فمن كانت هجرته إلى الله ورسوله فهجرته إلى الله ورسوله، ومن كانت هجرته لدنيا يصيبها، أو امرأة ينكحها فهجرته إلى ما هاجر إليه‏”‏ ‏

2. Always Ask Allah for help.

Ask Allah in your prayers to make you Quran Hafiz, to make the Quran easy for you and help you to complete it.

The almighty said:

“Whosoever fears Allah in whatever he does, Allah will open for him away out of the difficulties9 and will provide for him from whence he could little imagine.10 And whoever trusts in Allah, He is enough for him”.

Always Ask Allah for help.

3. Make a solid plan.

for example memorizing one page every day you will complete memorizing the Quran in 2 years, if your memorize half of page every day you will complete memorizing the holy Quran in 4 years

‘A’isha reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The acts most pleasing to God are those which are done most continuously, even if they amount to little.”

(Bukhari and Muslim.)

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى الله أدومها وَإِن قل»

It is necessary to Make a solid plan.

4. Make easy and constant plan.

I highly recommend for every one to memorize every day, and remember don’t care how much

you’ve memorized it’s about how well you memorized them.

Start your memorization with listening and reading the general meaning of the Ayat and vocabulary meanings.

Memorize Ayah by Ayah and if the Ayah is long take part by part.

The first word of the ayah is the key to read the hole Ayah.

Don’t leave the Ayah until you make sure it memorized well.

If you struggle with any word repeat it several times.

5. Memorize the Ayat with its meaning.

In my journey with teaching the holy Quran if the student doesn’t know the meaning about what he memorized he will lose the interesting and will feel boring.

And the main goal of memorizing the Quran to communicate with Allah and how this possible to communicate with him and you don’t know the meaning of what we say.

6. Read whatever you memorize in your five times prayers.

Imagine if a lady after giving birth of child and she left the baby without looking after him/her, the baby would be died.

I can say if you are not sure you won’t be able to review and pray with what you memorized, keep your effort because you’ll forget the Quran and this is a major sin.

The almighty said:

“وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِى لَشَدِيدٌ’

It is worth remembering at this point that in this verse, Allah Tad does promise good return, reward and increase in blessing, and that too in an emphatic manner: لَازِیدَنَّکُم (I shall certainly give you more). But, in contrast to this, for the ungrateful it was not said: لَاُعُذِّبَںَّکُم (I shall certainly punish you). Instead of that, given here is a limited warning which conveys the sense that ‘My punishment too, to whomsoever it reaches, is very severe.’ In this particular interpretation, there is a hint that it is not necessary that every ungrateful person has to undergo punishment – the likelihood of forgiveness also exists.

7. Learn about the similar Ayat.

In the Quran some Ayat is similar and some times the front of end of the Ayat are similar you need to read these Ayat carefully and make a notebook for it.

8. Make a plan for memorizing the new Ayat.

There are two separate plans, one for new Ayat, and one for Reviewing.

Don’t give the Quran your Leisure time, the best time for memorization after fajir.

Memorize two pages every day if you want memorize the Quran within one year.

If you are looking to memorize the Quran within two years, memorize one page every day.

If you would like to memorize the Quran within four years, Memorize half of page every day. “I highly recommend this for kids”.

9. Make a plan for reviewing.

When you completely memorized the holy Quran, the best thing is to complete reading it every 30 days.
